This Fabricut mohair velvet in Obsidian Black is a plush, dense cut pile in a deep charcoal-black. The mohair is heathered with fine gray and faintly warm, bronze-toned fibers, so up close the surface has a soft, dimensional, almost smoky depth, while from across the room it reads as a rich, near-black. It's softer and more forgiving than a flat jet black, and it shows less lint and wear. Mohair has long been a favorite for fine upholstery because of its resilience and its rich, velvety hand, and the acrylic in the blend adds body and helps the pile hold its shape. It pairs well with ivory, camel, cognac leather, gray, emerald, brass, chrome and walnut.

At over 70,000 double rubs, it's rated well beyond heavy-duty residential use. Use it for sofas, sectionals, club and accent chairs, ottomans, benches, headboards and throw pillows. It's a solid with no repeat, and the pile runs up the bolt, so cut all pieces in the same direction for an even color.
